Language exemptions for 6th years

If you are a student who does not study Irish and/or a third language it is important that you ensure you have the required matriculation exemptions from the NUI and/or TCD or other colleges.    This means that if you are applying to a NUI college such as UCD, RCSI and others you must apply for an exemption from the language requirement.  This exemption is not the same as any Department of Education exemption.  If there is a language requirement for matriculation and you do not meet this requirement you will  not be offered a place unless you have received an additional language exemption.  Where a language is a subject requirement for a particular course then a student must achieve the required grade regardless of exemptions.

More information is available at and on the TCD website.
