Oxford admissions tests

Most undergraduate courses at Oxford now require students to take a test as part of their application, and please note that separate registration is required. For details of all the tests, along with sample papers and details on how to register, please see www.ox.ac.uk/tests.

A few changes to note for this year:

  • Human Sciences – for this first time this year, all candidates for Human Sciences must take the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA).
  • History Aptitude Test (HAT) – will have four questions this year. Question 4 is only for History and Economics applicants. Further information and an updated sample paper can be found on the History website.
  • Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) – section B (Physics) will now be made up of shorter physics questions, replacing the multiple choice questions and long problems. Section A (Mathematics for Physics) remains unchanged. Further information and a sample paper for the new format are available on the Physics website.
  • Register in Guidance before 15th October deadline.
