NUI Galway “Performance Points” Sports Scholarship

New for 2014

NUI Galway are pleased to announce a new Sports Scholarship that will reward athletes who are performing at the highest levels of their sport while also achieving academically “performance points” that can be added to their CAO points for entry to NUI Galway in September 2014.

A limited number of scholarships will be offered for athletes who apply for courses that require more than 350 CAO points. 40 “Performance Points” will be on offer for successful candidates. These can be added to your CAO score for entry to NUI Galway:

This scheme applies to new entrants only.
Applicants must receive a minimum of 350 CAO
Points from a single *sitting of the Leaving Certificate in 6 subjects.
All normal minimum course requirements must be met.
Offers may not be deferred.
The scheme only applies to Full-Time Undergraduate courses.
This scheme does not currently apply to GY501

The benefits of being a scholarship holder includes;
• A subsistence grant • Coaching support • Medical and Physiotherapy support • Performance Nutrition • Performance Psychology • Strength and Conditioning • Performance planning and mentoring.

Apply for this scheme if:

You will be a new entrant to NUI Galway in 2014.
If you intend to apply for a course which might possibly require more than 350 points.

Only online applications will be accepted.
If you successfully submitted an application you will receive an automatic reply.
Under NO circumstances will late applications be accepted.
Closing date for Application will be the 31st of March 2014.
Interviews will be held in mid-April.
Offers will be made in early May.
If you apply for this scholarship and are unsuccessful you will also be considered for the NUI Galway Elite Sports Scholarship and there is no need to make a separate application.
